Beatdapp is pleased to announce that esteemed music industry attorney and label executive Sarah Scott has joined the company as an Advisor.
Scott, who brings deep domain knowledge to Beatdapp, represents a score of top recording artists and entertainers for LA based boutique intellectual property and entertainment law firm LaPolt Law.
“Sarah’s industry savvy and understanding of the issues facing rights holders will make her an invaluable member of the team. Her wealth of inside label and studio expertise will support our goal of ensuring our platform is purpose-built for the industry,” said founders Morgan Hayduk and Andrew Batey.
“Beatdapp is taking on an issue that I know firsthand widely impacts the industry. The product shows such great promise and I’m looking forward to tackling this challenge with them,” said Scott.
Prior to her position at LaPolt, Scott headed Business & Legal Affairs for Universal Music Group in Canada. Serving as the company’s chief counsel, she led negotiations to establish industry standard songwriter royalty rates for songwriters with the major publishers and their societies.
